Covid-19 RT-PCR Test
What is Covid – 19?
Covid – 19 is mainly a respiratory disease caused by corona virus named as SARS-COV 2. Corona virus is a single stranded RNA virus. Seven types of corona virus have been identified in humans so far.
The disease can spread from person to person through respiratory droplets from the nose (or) mouth when patient coughs, sneezes (or) even speaks. These respiratory droplets can land on objects. People can become infected by touching these objects.
An infected person can shed the virus for 14 days. Some studies say that person who is covid positive can spread upto 6 weeks (But it is not proven). Asymptomatic patients who are covid positive can infect others even without exhibiting the symptoms.
More than 80 to 90% of the covid positive patients are asymptomatic, only 5% of the positives need hospitalisation.
Symptoms of Covid-19

- • Diarrhoea
- • loss of taste
- • loss of smell
Symptoms may appear 2 – 14 days after exposure to the virus.
Testing Samples and Methodology
The Nasopharyngeal (Nasal) and Oropharyngeal swab (Throat swab) will be collected by taking all precautions by our experienced health care personnel. Diagnosis of COVID-19 infection is done by a process called RT – PCR. Reports will be shared within 24 hours.

- • Do not Touch your eye, nose and face with unwashed hands.
- • Do not Have close contact with persons with cold, cough and fever.
- • Crowed places to be avoided.
- • Handwash atleast for 20 to 30 seconds.
- • Always Wear a mask.
